It's been a long time since I've read Doctor Who fic, but that's how I've spent most of my post-con day today.
I was surfing around and found someone's post in which people were reccing stories about Rory's 2000 years guarding Amy and the Pandorica. (Aside: RORY. ♥_________♥ If Arthur Darvill isn't a full-on member of the cast by next season, I may cry.) Some of them were really good!
It shouldn't surprise me that fanon has already decided that Rory and Jack had to have met at some point. Two men who can't die (at least, not by human standards) waiting around for the Doctor? I'm really only surprised I haven't found any porn yet. For the gen fans in the house, however, we have:
One Long Starless Night, Two Old Soldiers Met at a Crossroads
Stoic
Waiting (also featuring River!)
Moving on to stories that don't involve everyone's favorite omnisexual in an indestructible coat, Turning and Turning is a lovely look at history through Rory's eyes. Features a couple of cameos by other Who-universe characters, which made me smile. Another good one is Nobody Sees, Nobody But Me.
The Time I Spent is a nice little coda to the end of the finale; Rory and Eleven have a little conversation in the TARDIS. I especially like Eleven's dialogue in this one, I can totally hear it in Matt Smith's voice!
However, my favorite story of the ones I read tonight is Vita Longa, mostly because it's the first good OT3 story I've read. :D (I haven't really been searching too hard for them up until now, but the longer I go on, the more I desperately need more Amy/Rory/Eleven in my life. Seriously. I've been tempted to commit meta about why it needs to be so!) Anyway, this story deals with Rory's twin childhood memories, as himself and as a Roman, and how that leads to Team TARDIS in all senses. :)
In conclusion - good stories! Go read!
I also spent part of today watching the Confidentials for the last two episodes. I really just want to put Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, and Arthur Darvill all in my pocket and keep them with me forever. It is going to be a LONG six months until I get new Who!! ::pouts::
